About
the 12th episcopal
district
The Twelfth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church stretches across the states of Arkansas and Oklahoma. Led by the episcopal leadership of the Right Reverend Michael and Supervisor Cordelia Mitchell, the Twelfth Episcopal District is comprised of the Arkansas, West Arkansas, East Arkansas and Oklahoma Conferences of the AME Church. The Twelfth District is also the home of Shorter College, the nation's only private two-year historically black college.
Upon the arrival of Bishop and Supervisor Mitchell in 2016, the 12th District has adopted "Called to Serve" as its focus for development and progress toward next level ministry. Recently, the newly constructed 12th Episcopal District Headquarters was dedicated to include administrative offices, meeting spaces and Jackson Theological Seminary!
